Treatment
With all the serious health risks associated with periodontal disease, Dr. Alex offers advanced gum therapies to treat and even reverse the disease. These therapies help make the treatment of gum disease more comfortable and effective than ever before.
Ultrasonic Scaler
Our practice uses the Cavitron ultrasonic scaler in the treatment of periodontal disease. It is a state-of-the-art tool that uses high frequency ultrasonic waves to clear away any pockets of bacteria below the gum line. The Cavitron makes periodontal therapy more effective, more comfortable and more thorough.
Soft Tissue Management
We use the Piezo, a laser-like, hand-held device to gently remove any damaged or diseased gum tissue and kill any bacteria below the gum line.
Antibiotic Treatment
Powerful antibiotics, such as Arestin and Atridox, have been developed specifically for the treatment of periodontal disease. Following treatment with the Cavitron and/or Pizeo, we will place Arestin or Atridox under the gum line to continue to kill bacteria over time.
