Meet the Team
Arlene Alex
Dental Hygienist
Arlene Alex received her degree from Macon College in 1993. She started her career as a Dental Assistant, and then became a Hygienist in 1997. She joined Dr. Glenn Alex in practice (who also happens to be her husband!) that same year, providing hygiene services to patients. "I love working side by side with my husband!" says Arlene. But that's not the only reason she loves her job. "We are an office that embraces people as people, not "patients." We help people achieve their dental goals with empathy and understanding. Using current techniques and materials in our amazing environment, we make a visit to the dentist enjoyable and memorable!"
Megan Whitley
Dental Hygienist
Megan Whitley received an Associate degree in Education from Young Harris College and her Dental Hygiene degree from Georgia Perimeter College. She frequently attends continuing education courses. She worked as a Dental Assistant/Technician for 2 years prior to becoming a Dental Hygienist. In her job, she helps patients reach and maintain optimal oral hygiene and over all health. "I educate patients, not only about oral hygiene, but how it relates to their systemic health as well," says Megan. "I love my patients and the relationships I have formed with them. It's so meaningful when I see a patient's smile transform, whether cosmetically or through oral hygiene. We make sure our patients are comfortable by providing a relaxing and beautiful environment and by using the most current technology available." Megan was born and raised in Lilburn and now resides in Bethlehem. She played softball at Young Harris College, and continues to love sports today. She and her husband have two beautiful boxers that they love.
Brittani Smith
Dental Assistant
Brittani Smith began her dental career in 2005, working in oral surgery while receiving her training in Dental Assisting. After completing her training at the Dental Career Foundation, she worked as a Dental Assistant for a family dentist for four years, and then joined Dr. Alex's practice. She assists Dr. Alex chair-side, does lab work and makes sure that the patient is comfortable. She helps patients understand their treatment and prepares them for procedures. But it is the outcomes of the treatments that really mean the most to her. "I love seeing the changes that dentistry can make in patients. When patients have the confidence to smile again, it changes their lives." Brittani has lived in Madison County her entire life. She is happily married and has two wonderful boys that keep her busy.
Leslie Farmer
Treatment Coordinator
Dr. Alex's Treatment Coordinator, Leslie Browning Farmer received a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology from the University of Georgia. In her role at the practice, Leslie coordinates patients' dental treatments, assists patients with financial arrangements and welcomes each patient to the practice. She loves the interaction she has with each guest. "It's a wonderful feeling to be a part of helping patients achieve their dental goals, many of which have a lasting impact on their lives and health." Leslie was a patient of Dr. Alex's for 12 years before working with his team, so she was very aware of the value the team places on patient relationships. "We have genuine care and concern for each patient's well-being." Leslie worked in international business for 8 years in Atlanta prior to working with Dr. Alex.
